The Salt Shack is run by a current F-35 pilot who understands how terrible it can be to live in a hotel for 4-5 months while TDY. The Salt Shack is not associated with or endorsed by the Air Force or Department of Defense.
FAQ
Will I be reimbursed by the Air Force?
Absolutely! Per the JTR and GAO, even if you don't have a non-A costs are reimbursable up to the on base rate which is all you'll be charged. You'll receive an itemized receipt every month which you can use for reimbursement throughout your time at Luke.
How far is the Salt Shack located from base?
It's roughly ~17 minutes from the door to work. We're convienently located near the 303 and Bell Rd.
Can I pay with my GTC?
100%! You'll be sent a payment request for the total monthly cost and can pay using your GTC.
Will I have a roommate?
You will likely have one other fighter pilot roommate during your stay, however you both have your own bedroom and bathroom.
